Headfirst Camps is the #1 camp program in the Washington, DC area. We settle for nothing less than an exceptional supporting cast of teachers, role models, and positive motivators. In fact, at Headfirst Camps, instead of using the terms “coach,” “counselor,” or “staff,” we call our team members PMTs—an acronym for “Positive Motivator & Teacher.”

To work at Headfirst you must be at least 18 years of age and/or a graduating high school senior. The majority of our PMTs are professionals in the field of Education.
Prospective PMT applications are accepted year round but the official hiring season begins December 1.

Camp Employment Commitment

To work at one of our summer camp locations, Headfirst requires you to work for at least 7 consecutive weeks during the summer.

Qualifications of Who We Hire

Professionals already working in the fields of:

Education
Sports Management
Outdoor Recreation

College Students seeking degrees in:

Teacher Training Program or any other child related field
Physical Education
Sports Management

Camp was a winning combination of professionalism and organization combined with polite, intelligent counselors. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and the kids.
