Movie Making Camp Overview

Discover video and television techniques while producing your own television program this summer! Headfirst is excited to offer this cutting-edge, creative program using the latest video, sound, and television equipment to teach students the art of Media Production. This program is designed for all abilities—beginner and experienced alike.

Each week, campers form teams and work together to create a new short script for a commercial, mini-documentary or short movie. This program offers a wide variety of action-packed activities including learning to write a script, to make a story board, choose roles both on and off camera, take part in set design, create and select costuming, put together props & make up, and act in front of the camera. Throughout the week, campers are introduced to basic video and cinematography lessons as they learn how to use a video camera creatively and gain an understanding of how movies are made “behind the scenes”. By the end of the week a TV or Movie video has been created. This production is captured for each attending camper on a DVD. All campers receive their professionally edited DVD approximately 6-8 weeks after the camp program ends.
