The Woods Academy
We are proud to return to The Woods Academy for our third year to help campers tap into the power of play to discover their gifts, explore new interests, and make the most of every day. Each year, we balance programmatic innovation with our favorite Headfirst traditions to bring the best experience possible to your camper. We are excited to have that same energy and love of summer back in 2025!
We’re thrilled to dive into another year with FINS Swimming after a fantastic 2024!
At Woods Academy, campers and counselors are transported via shuttle bus daily to the nearby Seven Locks Pool for instructional and recreational swim sessions, led by the expert Bethesda-based team at FINS Swimming. Founded in 2009 by Montgomery County Swim League coaches and alumni, FINS Swimming is a vibrant year-round youth swim program that empowers swimmers of all levels to celebrate and enjoy their unique talents.

JUNIOR DAY CAMP
The highest quality camp for your brand new camper. Our youngest Headfirst campers enjoy everything from arts & crafts to STEM to swim lessons, as well as the opportunity to make friends and begin learning our Super 6 skills to increase their independence. Daily instructional swim is powered by FINS Swimming at Seven Locks Pool and is available as part of programming.
Ages: Rising Pre-K 3 – 4
Hours: 9am – 3pm

DAY CAMP
Everyday exploration happens here, where no day looks the same. Day Campers bring to life a story-based theme through a variety of activities, like arts & crafts, STEM, music, and sports. Creative projects and challenges show them what they are truly capable of! Daily instructional swim is powered by FINS Swimming at Seven Locks Pool and is available as part of programming.

Sprouting Scientists
Our newest program focuses on the world of science: experimenting, inventing, and changing the world around them through new themeslike Animal Antics, Kitchen Chemistry, and favorites like Spooky Ooky Science. Daily recreational swim is powered by FINS Swimming at Seven Locks Pool and is available as part of programming.
Ages: Rising 1st – 2nd Grade

D.C. United Splash Experience
Join us for a week of D.C. United curriculum in combination with Headfirst Summer Camps. This program includes D.C. United soccer instruction and competition, daily recreational swim, bounce house, as well as Art and STEM activities for a fully balanced summer camp experience! As part of this new D.C. United offering, every camper will receive a D.C. United Camp official jersey and two (2) complimentary tickets to a select 2025 D.C. United regular season home game.

D.C. UNITED SOCCER CAMP
Looking for the most fun week of soccer in town? Play and learn in style at D.C. United Summer Camp! This offering includes five full days of soccer instruction and competition in D.C. United’s custom-built curriculum. Every camper will receive a D.C. United Camp official jersey and two (2) complimentary tickets to a select 2025 D.C. United regular season home game.
